Productivity Layers
Have you ever noticed that there are certain times when you come up with your best ideas? I don’t know about you, but I definitely come up with my most creative/ genius ideas when I’m in the shower.
In an article from Lesson in Life, Banji explains his theory that “the mind has so many layers. It’s just like we surf multiple website in the same time. We open a lot of browser. One for each site.” and that “there will always be one layer which is the catalyst for your whole creativity and productivity.”
For example, some people find that listening to music helps them to overcome writer’s block. Others may find that taking a walk helps. The key to taking advantage of this theory is to identify your own productivity layer. You may even have more than one. In my case, I could use another one since it would be ridiculous to try to take a shower every time I needed a creativity boost! But now that I’ve identified this as one of my productivity layers, to take advantage, I could make use of one of these waterproof shower notepads:
Or be sure to write down my ideas soon after getting out of the shower.
I have found that like he mentions in the article, I get some great ideas while driving as well. So I could definitely use a digital voice recorder to take advantage of this productivity layer.
